At headquarters, we concern ourselves with intelligent allocation of capital and selection and compensation of our operating managers.
We understand that integrity serves as the foundation of the relationship between buyer and seller. It is a relationship in which all parties agree to deal honestly and openly with one another. Without this commitment, no agreement can exist or be sustained between the Company and its subsidiaries and candidate acquisitions. You can be assured that we will be candid with you and operate with integrity and high ethical standards in all matters, and in return, we expect integrity and honesty to govern the operation of our subsidiaries and for subsidiaries to make reasonable and responsible decisions consistent with this policy.
We have a natural aversion to debt. We limit our exposure to it and use it sparingly. One thing we will not do is use debt or equity to finance our acquisitions. Instead we rely on our own cash flows to fuel our growth. Acquired companies can rest assured that their assets will never be sold or used as collateral for any of the parent company's obligations.
We also do not get involved in the day-to-day operations of the companies in which we invest. No one knows your business as well as you do. We let our operating managers run their businesses with little interference from headquarters.
We're in it with you for the long haul. We have no exit strategy. We plan on keeping our companies indefinitely as long as the companies can be expected to be profitable.
